Laurence Kayson, Chairman

Laurence Kayson brings with him a rich and diverse background in sales and marketing from several industries, including the packaging industry. Today, he is CEO of Glopac, a GNFR (Goods Not for Resale), non-foods NPD (New Product Development) and importer to all major UK retailers. Laurence is also Director at Greenpac, an environmental solutions provider.

 

Laurence holds a BA in Economics & Politics from the University of Leeds, UK. 

 

Shmulik Bakerman, CEO

A seasoned entrepreneur and business man, Shmulik Bakerman has headed up several of Israel’s leading companies including: Sarel, Israel's largest healthcare and medical supplier and Golan Fruit, the country's largest packaging and warehouse. An expert in leading the reengineering of companies, as well as supply chain management based on high-end software technologies, Shmulik’s vast multidisciplinary experience enables him to successfully identify and capitalize on promising marketing opportunities.

 

Shmulik holds an MBA from the Herzlia Interdisciplinary Center and a B.Sc. in industrial engineering from the Technion, Haifa.

 

Jacob Lahav, R & D Manager

Jacob Lahav brings with him over a decade of successful leadership of startup companies in both the electrical and chemical sectors. In recent years, his main focus has been on the development of an organic shelf-life extender for fresh produce and the increased hatchability of newly-laid eggs. Before entering the entrepreneurial realm, Jacob worked in the import and export division of Panorama for over 16 years.

 

Jacob holds a degree in Computer Security from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa.

 

Gonen Paz, Sales Manager

Gonen Paz brings with him extensive experience in the Spanish and Latin American agricultural markets. Prior to Natratec, Gonen was Sales Manager for the regions of Spain and Mexico for Paskal, a large Israeli industrial and agricultural corporation. His varied marketing experience includes working as  Sales Manager for Agrocanarias de Tecnologia S.L..and G.B. Canarias S.L. in the Canary Islands as well as management of banana nurseries in Israel.

 

GonenPaz holds marketing certifications from Ort Braude College, Rupin College and the Israel Marketing Center.

  

 

Professor Amos Ar, Scientific Consultant

A member of the Department of Zoology at the University of Tel Aviv, Professor Amos Ar, Ph D holds research interests in both structural and functional allometry, adaptation and evolution. In his work as a dedicated consultant for the NatraHatch product, Professor Ar is actively involved in the development of the company’s innovative, organic formulation developed by the Natratec R&D Department.

 

Professor Ar holds a B.Sc. in Biology and an M.Sc. & Ph.D  in Zoology, all from the University of Tel Aviv.

 

Dr. Amnon Bustan, Board of Directors

Dr. Amnon Bustan brings with him over 20 years of experience in the assessment, methodology, quality control and lifespan forecast of natural produce. Part of the ‘Olive Team’ at the Gilat Research Centre (ARO), he is involved in research on the alternate bearing of olives and olive oil production, as well as providing proposals for local and international (EU) funding sources. Previously, Bustan developed a set of practical tools designed to minimize post harvest diseases; providing vital support to Agrexco growers by way of consultation, new technologies and quality control.

 

Dr. Bustan holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Horticulture and a Ph.D. in agriculture from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Faculty of Agriculture in Rehovot, Israel.

 

 

Professor Jorge M. Fonseca, Board of Directors

Professor Jorge Fonseca serves as Postharvest & Produce Safety Specialist for The University of Arizona, where he leads the state’s vegetable Physiology, Safety, Quality, Research & Extension program. Author and editor of over 130 scientific and technical publications pertaining to the quality and safety of fresh produce, he has received several awards including: the Young Scientist Award by the Plant Growth Regulation Society of America and the R.C. Edwards University Endowment Research Award. Actively involved in the fresh fruit and vegetable industry since the early 90s, Fonseca’s background includes consultant work for several major companies, grower’s associations and government entities both in the US and Latin America, with major focus on improving quality, safety standards and sustainable provision of perishable products.

 

Professor Fonseca holds a Ph.D. in food technology from Clemson University, South Carolina, an M.Sc. in Horticulture also from Clemson, an MBA from the University of Costa Rica and the National University of San Diego, CA and a B.Sc. in Plant Sciences from the University of Costa Rica.
